People are reading and writing a lot more pornography than they did fifteen years ago. Why is this? How come pornography is acceptable when it's disguised as fanfic? What does it mean for society, that people are so open about reading and appreciating porn? It used to be something that was done in secret -- images of dirty magazines hidden in brown paper bags, dodgy porn shops down small side-streets, the latest Jackie Collins novel passed around between friends. Now it's all out in the open: porn scattered all over the internet for anyone to read or see, men's soft-porn magazines on the same shelf as Good Housekeeping, Ann Summers shops on every high street. What will it be like in another generation's time?

I'm not condemning it, because I don't know if this is a good or bad thing. I'm just curious. Where are we headed?
