We saw "Batman Begins" last Saturday and, oh, I liked it. I liked it a lot. I noticed, roughly two-thirds of the way through, that I had a huge grin on my face -- just because I was enjoying the film so much. Not so the little children, though. I think 12A was the wrong certificate for it, judging by the tears and the wailing and the wanting-to-go-home; either that or the parents weren't doing their censoring job (I know my mother would've been covering my eyes at all the scary bits, if I'd seen that film with her when I was little). My only quibbles with it were the heavy-handed flashbacks (too much and too long and repeated too many times) and the irritating fast editing in the fight scenes. Otherwise, as I said, oh, I liked it.
I hope they don't make a sequel.
I made a bargain with my sister this morning: I'm to write 2,000 words every day on my unicorn story, with the hope that I'll have it finished before HBP comes out. In any case, I've promised that I won't read HBP until I've finished writing this first draft. Good incentive, eh?
